Jones Oklahoma - East-side Conoco - BikeBuddiesOKC.org is working directly with the owner and management. Our plan is to do whatever it takes to alleviate the burden on the Sak-N-Go caused by the high bicyclist traffic in the area. On Labor Day, there were bicycles blocking customer's access to the gas pumps and to the entrances of the store and the Subway Deli. A couple of cyclists went inside a metal building used to smoke meats and urinated. The problem was sufficient to cause the manager to call the police. We have suggested that BikeBuddiesOKC.org provide material and labor to install a bike rack at the edge of the parking lot, signage for the front of the building to direct cyclists to use the rack, a sign on or near the rack asking cyclists to adhere to a "Cyclist's Code of Conduct" and two picnic tables anchored under the shade of a large tree so cyclists won't be as inclined to collect around the front doors of the building.

The owner, manager and employees of the Sak-N-Go have been very hospitable and are enthusiastic about working with us to remedy the situation. We must remember that we are guests as well as customers and do everything we can to remain welcome.

We have met with the general manager, discussed the construction details and have the go-ahead to proceed with this project. It's time to get to work! Please take a look at the Project Budget before deciding on your contribution.
